Today the state government announced that 300 new jobs would be created in Geelong. These jobs are thanks to a “co-investment” by the state government to convince Energy Australia to open up a new call centre down there. But is this really a “new” call centre? Are these really “new” jobs?

Review: The Bridge Inn (Mernda Pub)

The in-laws are down from QLD and we thought we would take them out for dinner. A couple of months ago The Bridge Inn, formerly known as the Mernda Pub, opened after it’s multi million dollar redevelopment and we thought this would be a good opportunity to test it out. We had tried to book in a couple of times since it opened and due to short notice we were unable to get in. So we booked 4 days in advance and we had no issues getting in.

Crowding on South Morang trains solved?

Today the October 2013 load standard surveys were released by PTV for trains and trams in Melbourne. I suspect with the seat of Yan Yean to be hotly contested at this years state election given the redistribution of the electoral boundaries Transport Minister Mulder jumped on the front foot to boast about the results on the South Morang Line, however when you read the media release it is actually quite comical.
