Testing the $7 rural public transport theory

Earlier this month it was announced that on January 1st 2014 public transport fares would rise across the state. With that in mind I wrote this blog piece… The $7 one way public transport trip to rural Victoria. I had the chance over the break to test the theory out.

Public Transport Forum – November 2010

In a bit of a twitter exchange this morning with Martin Pakula, Daniel Bowen and Tim Pallas I was pointed to the audio of a radio transport forum held by Jon Faine on ABC radio 774 in Melbourne back on the 17th of November 2010 about 10 days before the 2010 state election.

In the garden – December 2013

I haven’t done a little bit of a garden update on things growing in our front and back gardens for a while so given I put together a new herb garden on the weekend now is a good time to do that!

Of course more revenue will theoretically be generated however with prices continually increasing and a continual lack of significant investment into the Public Transport system it will probably act to deter a few more people away from using Public Transport… […]
